Registration information

Please read instructions carefully before proceeding to the registration link at the end of this page!

Students attending the UCEAP Paris Language and Culture Program for summer 2019 must register for courses by Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 11:59 pm (one minute to midnight), California-time.

This registration is definitive. Course books, readers, and library materials will be provided to students at the beginning of the summer.

It is highly recommended that students study the course descriptions and sample syllabi carefully. All courses receive UC general education credits.

Students are encouraged to be in touch with their departmental Undergraduate Advisers if they wish these courses to count for major credit, since final decisions about credit for departmental majors remain with individual departments, not with the UC Paris Study Center.

Please choose three courses in order of your priority, your first choice indicating your highest preference and your third your lowest. Student requests for courses will be treated in the order in which they were received, so it is in your best interest to complete your registration in a timely way.

Each student will be enrolled in a French language class based on his or her previous language experience as reported on a language questionnaire completed prior to arrival. During the summer program, students on the intensive track take a two-course French language sequence; students on the semi-intensive track take one French language course.  In addition, both tracks take ONE of the following:

  • Paris as Palimpsest
  • Paris Reflections
  • The Cultural Politics of Food
