The Global Cities Urban Realities Semester with Internship Program - Paris

The Global Cities Urban Realities Semester with Internship Program is the creation of faculty and administrators at the University of California.  It is designed to introduce students to the complex social, political and economic issues brought about by immigration, increasing diversity and urban conflict in London and Paris.  The program is intended as a rewarding experience abroad for students interested in exploring the challenges faced by these exciting and dynamic European capitals.  The dates for the 2018 Semester with Internship Program in Paris are May 2nd - July 20th.


Semester with Internship Program Overview

During the first five weeks of their Paris program, semester with internship students will take one upper-division 4.5 UC quarter (3.0 semester) unit content course, which meets for thirty-eight hours over the five week period.

During their eleven weeks in Paris, semester with internship students will also take one lower-division 6.0 UC quarter (4.0 semester) unit City and Language course, which meets for sixty hours over the eleven week period. 

Additionally, semester with internship students will have an eleven-week Internship and Workforce course, worth 4.5 upper-division UC quarter (3.0 semester) units.

Students are advised to carefully consult course syllabi and weekly schedule before making travel plans that would conflict with academic or internship responsibilities.

Units

Students are required to take 15 UC quarter (10 semester) units.
